Kolm, launching Fall 2024, is Vancouver’s premier luxury immersive Sauna and Ice Bath experience equipped with all amenities. Offering classes and self guided sessions, our mission is to provide a learning ground for personal development, and create a community of like-minded growth seekers.

 

Job Overview

As the Shift Supervisor, you work directly with the General Manager to be responsible for holistic management of Kolm’s first studio. The ideal candidate enjoys connecting with others, is calm, and has superior skills in communication and organisation. They are the people manager on shift, assist in sweat equity management and are a key contact for managing events, communications, and training. The shift supervisor role is highly important to the holistic Kolm community, guests, and internal team alike.
 

Reports to

The shift supervisors report to the General Manager and are responsible for daily operations, channelling feedback, customer service needs, and guest account issues. Shift Supervisors also report any studio maintenance and operational issues that arise.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include welcoming and checking in guests, ensuring optimal flow of guests and team throughout the space, management of operations tasks of the facility, supporting the guides, sweat equity and back of house cleaning team.
  • Consistently provide exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledgeable of the brand mission, core values and culture, setting an example for guests and staff alike.
  • Shift leader providing direction and oversight on key tasks for FOH and BOH, ensuring day to day operations run smoothly.
  • Completes opening and closing checklists as needed.
  • Customer service lead: answering guest email inquiries, phone calls, key client relationship development, provides solutions for customer needs and complaints or client account issues.
  • Takes pride in the customer experience, driving sales, knowledge of class offerings, current promotions and all aspects of the sales process.
  • First name culture with guests to build a sense of community and belonging.
  • Engages in our slack channel to provide feedback and shoutouts to build a culture of appreciation.
  • Responsible for managing Mariana Tek; from sign-in and attendance, to sales reports and booking services. Updates customer accounts, managing memberships, credits, cancellations and collection of overdue accounts.
  • Key holder.
 

Physical Requirements

  • Work on your feet for 8 hours
  • Move, pull carry or lift 20 pounds
  • Must be able to kneel, bend, reach, and climb
  • Able to work in an environment with large temperature variations (Sauna)
 

Qualifications

   Must Haves:

  • Available to work up to 5 shifts per week and have strong on-floor presence; ability to work a flexible schedule including, early mornings, nights and weekends and some holidays.
  • Previous experience in management roles in fitness/wellness environments.
  • Proven track record of leading customer service team.
  • Personally committed to continuous improvement and development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have the proven ability to drive revenue, possess excellent time management, organisational and follow-up skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Gmail / Calendar.
  • Ability to learn new tech platforms used for operations and experience with fitness booking systems or reservation systems a plus.
