Frequently Asked Questions

Before & During Your Session

Where is Kolm Located?

You’ll find us at Cambie & 8th, across from Whole Foods. Enter through the lobby of 525 W 8th. Our studio is located behind the concierge desk. If the doors are locked (weekends, holidays, evenings), use the building entry system and select “Find Kolm” or dial 1001. Parking is best found on 8th Ave or in the Whole Foods parking lot.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring a bathing suit and a water bottle (no glass as we are a barfoot space). We provide two towels per guest. Additional towels are available on request. Bathing suits are available for purchase at the front desk, and robes are available for rent.

What Should I Wear?

Kolm is a clothing-required facility. Guests must wear swimwear or wellness attire they are comfortable getting wet in during their experience. Underwear is not acceptable.

What are the temperatures of the sauna and ice bath?

Our sauna ranges from 82°C to 90°C with 10–20% humidity. Cold plunges sit between 0°C and 4°C.

Are There Any Health Restrictions?

Please consult your health professional to discuss issues or concerns. If you have a cardiac condition, a history of fainting, blood pressure issues, or you are pregnant, our facilities should only be used with a physician’s approval. Kolm cannot be held responsible for illness or injury due to guest negligence. View our Safety Policy

How Should I Move Through the Space?

We suggest beginning with 15–20 minutes in the sauna, followed by 1–3 minutes in the cold plunge, and finishing with rest in the tea lounge. But there is no singular path — listen to your body and move intuitively.

What Type of Session is Best for First-Timers?

While all offerings are suitable for newcomers, we suggest starting with a Self-Guided session. You’ll receive 1:1 support from one of our expert guides to help orient you through the hot-cold experience. More First-Timers info

Is There a Minimum Age?

Yes — Kolm is an 18+ facility.

Is There Parking?

There is street parking on 8th Ave. Additionally, there is a large parkade under the Whole Foods across the street from our studio.

What Etiquette Should I be Aware of in the Space?

Always sit on a towel in the sauna. Always shower before entering ice bath.

Our mission is to create a space for shared connection amongst like-minded growth seekers. We welcome you to come through our doors alone, or with friends. We encourage respectful conversation in the sauna, tea lounge and change rooms. Note that this is a flirt free zone.

Can I Wear Footwear?

Kolm is a barefoot space beyond the locker room. We do not allow shoes, slides or sandals past the locker room. However we will allow Water Shoes or Dive Socks that are indoor only/have never been worn outside. Dive Socks help keep your feet warm in ice bath!

Policies & Memberships

Can I Pause My Membership?

Yes — we offer the option to pause your membership for up to 3 months within any 12-month rolling period. To arrange a pause, email our team in advance of your next billing cycle.

Can I Book for Others With My Credits?

Yes, you may reserve up to four spots per session using your regular credit package (excluding intro offers or specially priced contest packs). Each guest must create their own Kolm account and sign a waiver before arrival.

What is Your Phone Policy?

Disconnect to reconnect. We are a cell phone free facility. We ask all guests to leave their cell phones in their lockers. If you would like to take photos of the space please talk to us!

Can I Cancel my Membership?

Once your 3-month commitment has been completed, simply email us at info@kolmkontrast.com at least 7 days before your next renewal date to process the cancellation.

What is the late arrival policy?

We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early. If you do not arrive atleast 5 minutes prior to the start of your session, you risk losing your spot to the next person on the waitlist. All guided classes start on time. We do not allow late entry to guided classes to prevent disruption to the rest of the class. All guests must be in the tearoom by the start of class or risk not being allowed entry.

Membership Credit Rollover

For 1x, 4x, unlimited members credits can roll over to following month. Please inquire on policy.

Lost items are held at the front desk and donated at the end of each month. Reach out promptly if you’ve left something behind.
